Waiting for the Big Fat Bumbly Bee

I'm hopeless at macro! Do I need a bigger lens or do I just need to work harder at it? I don't know but while I was out cutting the grass there was a great big fat bumble bee on the ceanothus and once I finished mowing and strimming, I got the camera and of course as soon as I got it he b*ggered off. Lot's of other little bumble bees, bees and hoverflies but I wanted the big fat one. Anyway, I've been in and out all day listening for the deep drone and he keeps coming in and flying away. When he does stay for a while I still cant get anything that's not blurry or out of focus.

Anyway, I've finished up with this one. I suspect it's a hoverfly rather than a bee but that's okay, I'm all for equal opportunities.

We have Frances, M's daughter, my stepdaughter to stay on a quick flit from Edinburgh. I probably should have blipped her.

I hope you've had a Good Friday, it's been a beautiful day here and I hope it's been the same for you.

David
