We have eggs!!!

The female Great Tit has spent time in the nest box today and revealed 5 eggs!! She has spent time sitting and the male has attentively fed her with “wiggly things” which she devours, but she has nipped off periodically for a few minutes. I think this is a practice run for the proper job which will start in a day or two!!

We had "babies" in 2011 & 2012 and both times the female laid 6 eggs, so we may get another one tomorrow. Two of the six survived to leave the nest in 2011 and the following year all babies flew the nest !!!!!
