I made it and ate it
Sadly French shops don't sell hot cross buns, so people tend to bring them back from the UK and stash them in the freezer. I did that too, but ate them long before Good Friday, so the only solution today was to make some.
They took ages to rise as my house was quite cold, so I had to put them in a very low oven, but they eventually did, and even went on to look like proper hot cross buns!
Then I had a very nice afternoon at a brocante with some friends, and invited them back for tea and buns in the sunshine.
