St John's, Stadhampton

Had a lovely day today. Had to get up early to dash to M&S for birthday and new baby presents, and then on to Thame. It was my husband's cousin's granddaughter's 2nd birthday. All of his side of the family were there, and we don't get to see them that often. All very relaxed, and Adam got to bond with his older 2nd cousins 3rd removed, or something like that! There was also a one week old baby, so I managed to nab some newborn snuggles.

On the way there I had spotted this little church, so we stopped on the way home to take a picture. A very friendly lady spotted us and invited us inside to look at the recent renovation work. It was fabulous! I've never before seen a 13th century church with underfloor heating, and a kitchen right alongside the pews. It does sound odd, but it was all entirely in keeping with the age of the church. It also means that the community can use it as a general venue as well. There is going to be a wedding reception there tomorrow. I thought it was a great idea.

We then stopped in Hartley Wintney for a curry, before heading home.
