Good Friday

We went to 'Messy Church' this morning.
We made a garden to remember the story of Jesus (kids enjoyed looking for sticks, stones and moss in the church garden) I helped Emilia to make three crosses out of sticks, and she put soil, a plant and stones in a small tin to take home. Then we had hot cross buns (that's a first one for Emilia) and a run around followed by more Easter crafts. Emilia enjoyed singing at the church. I'm really glad we went. Things used to be more meaningful when we were kids, the spirit of church celebrations seems to be lost somehow; I hope Emilia will have a better idea of why we celebrate Easter now...
Emilia and her friend played nicely together in the garden afterwards, so me and E. could catch up ;-)
Late in the afternoon we got my bike out and went for a little ride, first one this year. It was lovely.
