Good Friday Market
Almost 90 people in the Market Square from Churches Together in Atherstone & Mancetter got together to celebrate a moving series of readings and meditations written by Nick Fawcett.
In Atherstone they always have a market day on Fridays. However this week the market square was joined by a large number of people who came together for a Walk of Witness from Trinity Church in Coleshill Road to St Mary's Parish Church that borders one side to the Square. The other three sides are bordered by lots of pubs (6) and a few shops.
The Walk and the Open Air Service lasted about an hour and we were accompanied by musicians from the Parish Church. This was followed by hot and cold Hot Cross Buns with tea or coffee.
I managed to talk to all the stall holders after the service and while they wondered what was going to happen while we were there they all seemed to enjoy the additional attention. Even the fish man sold more fish today than usual!
