A hard rain yesterday evening brought more cherry blossoms down to the sidewalk.

While I was at a conference in Portland, the girl was walking to a local ice cream shop and arranging for all of the lower elementary students in her school (under 60) to have ice cream cones.

She and a few friend sold healthy snacks at school last year during lunch to earn money. They didn't really have a goal in mind, just an entrepreneurial spirit. So, they decided to spend their earnings on this treat for their friends. Kind of ironic...selling healthy snacks to raise money for an ice cream treat. However, I am grateful that her teacher and principal (also her aunt) made their little venture possible.

At school, the boy has been tearing telephone books an gluing the pieces onto paper. His teacher said that he did it for an hour and a half the first day he tried it. He told me yesterday that I was "disturbing" him. I asked him if he ever disturbed me. He said, "No." Hmmm...
