Spitalfields street art
Didn't get time to blip this yesterday.
Went on a street art tour, starting from Spitalfields market, and along Brick Lane and surrounding area. There was so much to see, so many different types of art - spray painted, posters, roller and brush painted, plaster that had been laid on and then hacked off with a drill to create a face, street signs that had been embellished, miniature bronze figures on top of street signs, ceramic tiles ... and more.
It was also really interesting to see the architecture in the area - some really old houses - and to hear about the immigrants, going back to the French Huguenot weavers of the late 1600s. The area has been a cultural and artistic hub ever since.
This piece of art is in Hanbury Street, off Brick Lane, and is by an artist called Rone from Melbourne. It's only very recently completed.
This is Rone's Instagram page
