What a tit!

No, not Diana. The bird that has been waking me in the mornings. I checked out bird calls on the internet and have no doubt that my feathered friend is a Great Tit, literally.

A very pleasant day strolling around Northallerton. Had an early morning coffee (milk shake for me, I'm not yet won over to coffeee) in a delightful little cafe. Called in at a craft show and was reminded just how average my photography is. There was a guy there by the name of Ray Etchells selling prints and they were simply fabulous. The colours, vibrancy, lighting, detail of the landscapes were just stunning. You can see some of his work here. Quite inspirational really.

I've mentioned before that I am a bit of a food snob and so we took some time to find somewhere for lunch. So many of the pubs are doing standard pub fayre. Don't get me wrong, if that's what you are looking for, I'm sure they do it very well but I wanted something other than scampi, burger, sausage etc. Found a place just outside Darlington, a hotel called the Grove with a gastro pub. Lovely 2 course lunch for £12.95. I'm now well and truly stuffed and am planning on little more than a bowl of soup for dinner tonight.
