Blip war... or maybe just being too considerate?
Today my baby left primary school. He's been a bit busy lately, what with being taken out along with the other 4 kids in his class for a farewell dinner by his teacher, teaching a duck to swim and generally enjoying the Summer. So not much time for blipping. Otherwise he might have told you of this big day in his life.
After an emotional farewell by his wonderful teacher Arrow and his brother were kidnapped by Dieseldaisy and her kids and made to jump in the sea and build sandcastles and generally have loads of fun.
However before they set off for the beach Arrow realised he had forgotten his asthma inhaler and DD set off up to our house to pick it up. On the way she encountered a strange woman lurking in a ditch at the side of the road with a camera. She waved and drove on, picked up the inhaler and headed back.
Then, just as she passed said nutter in ditch she ground to a halt. Approaching was a stampede of calves (OK, I'm exaggerating... they weren't going that fast). We both realised that not only was she going to have to reverse out of the way (single rack road remember) but instead of laughing at her I should really move too.
Having made it out of the road of these HUGE and scary beasts. DD called out of the window of the car that I should blip the calves. No, no said I... here you borrow my camera, you saw it first. No, no, no, I 've got my camera but you do it. And so the conversation continued... until the calves had reached us and I gave in. But...
... they were to fast, all I got was a couple of black and white butts dissapearing round our wall.
So, my original subject. The buttercups at the edge of a field of barley. Not so cute, nor so dramatic but a lot slower moving.
