Car day :-)

An afternoon with the cars today.
Prepped the Land Rover for its MOT on Friday - only a bulb and a small leak in the fuel spill rail to worry about.
That left some time to tinker with the spider.
I still haven't got round to the timing belt yet.
Apart from that there's not much else I need to do to it.
Ok, I'd like to swap the tan hood for a black one but the rest is all 'patina'.
That's an 'in' word at the moment, not only in cars but watches too.
I read an interesting letter in this months Octane magazine from a US car restorer.
He preps cars to concours standard.
Anyway, he was saying there's a trend these days to fully resore classic vehicles to mint condition and then dirty them up a bit to make them look old and used - brilliant :-)
I also sprayed one of the sills (or rockers in the US) black this afternoon to see what it would look like.
It looked rubbish so the black's coming off again - should be an easy job as I used some spray wrap which apparently just peels off - fingers crossed on that one :-)
I really need a week off to play with the cars...in fact I could spend years just tinkering around with cars...if I win the lottery tonight...Hmmm, that'd be good!
