Helping hand
We went for a walk with some friends at Sankey Valley Park today and took advantage of the gorgeous weather. It was ALMOST warm enough to not have to wear a jacket (for me, the kids would have been happy practically naked).
I had a moment of frustration mixed with pride with Chickpea today. She wanted to cross a branch over a swampy pond. I was ok with her going halfway as it looked wide enough and easy to balance on, but she wanted to go higher, over less reliable terrain. I was worried and told her that I wasn't sure it was safe and we did not have a change of clothes if she fell in. She was determined and would not be swayed. She wanted to prove that she could do it and I am proud of her little spirit and that she wasn't stifled even with my uncertainty.
Monkey did a lot of splashing and finding interesting things to throw in the water. Luckily, grandpa lent him a helpful hand.
