The first and last

A beautiful sunny day in Edinburgh, and as has already been pointed out the tourists are back in town - as are the street entertainers.

These are among the first of the crop, but unlike Jersey Royals, the season for these guys is a long one. Before the Festival is over at the end of the summer, there will be much more drumming, fire-eating, standing still while wearing gold paint, magic trickery, juggling, standing still while wearing silver paint, sword swallowing and combinations of the above.

I promise this will be my only street entertainer blip this season. But I'll no doubt renegue on that before long.
