It's been a long time since I've lived somewhere without working double glazing - the flat I had as a student was absolutely freezing most of the time and during the winter it was especially freezing (not helped by the raw wind that seemed to perpetually be blowing during the winter in Edinburgh).

Of course, being students we also didn't tend to have the central heating on much and relied upon a gas fire to get any heat... which led to more condensation.

The upside of flats that I'd forgotten about is that they're incredibly leaky, especially older flats; I get the benefit of my neighbours heating being on!
