Trip to Umberslade Farm x
Today was Good Friday, So Mike was off work. We got the picnic ready, loaded up the car and off we set on the 10 minute drive to Umberslade Farm to meet Louise and Liam, Helen and Grace, Lisa and Harry and James, and Louise and Rhys. It was such a lovely sunny morning and there wasn't a cloud in the sky as we parked up, just glorious.
Eva absolutely loved looking at all the animals. There were sheep, pigs, cows, goats, llamas, ducks, chickens, ponies, guinea pigs and rats. There had also been lots of babies born lately, with it being Spring, so we also got to see the baby lambs, calfs, kids and ducklings. It was absolutely wonderful to be able to handle the animals. Eva absolutely loves ducks and often does the quack quack movement with her hand, so I loved showing her the little baby duckling. We got to bottle feed a little lamb which was amazing. The only part when Eva was unsure, was when I put her hand on the pony's nose, she didn't like that, and sat back in her pushchair, although she did enjoy watching Liam, Grace and Harry having their pony rides.
After the animals, we found some picnic benches over by the duck pond, and had lunch. Eva enjoyed tucking into her ham sandwich, grapes, mini gingerbread men and pom bears along with her little cup of water.
We then walked round to the play area, where Eva and Rhys had a great time on the individual swings, then we sat them together in a cradle type swing which they loved too. We went into the soft play barn then and Eva loved having a good old crawl round everywhere and looking at herself in the funny mirrors, then out through the barn to where there were ride on tractors, and I pushed her round on one.
The children all had such a fun time and I think us adults did too!! Mike got loads of lovely pictures, in fact it was difficult narrowing them down for today's pic.
We got back around 2.30 and Eva had a sleep til around 4.40pm when we then took her round to Aunty Liza's as she was staying there overnight so Mike and I could go out for Dougie's birthday. As soon as she got to my sisters she was having a lovely time, not phased at all that Mike and I were going. I wondered if she'd sleep well as she'd slept so late, but Liza told me that she fell asleep around 8.15 as Lorna gave her her bedtime bottle and she was in bed, spark out by 8.20pm. Xxxx
