The Buchanan Retreat

I've been feeling loaded with the cold yesterday & today so in an effort to blow away the cobwebs we had a family walk this afternoon around the 'neighbourhood'.

This fine old building, currently lying empty and unloved was 'The Buchanan Retreat'. It was built in 1890 by the Buchanan sisters of Bellfield, near Kilmarnock, in Ayrshire.

It was taken over by Bearsden Burgh in 1962 and used as council offices. Now known as Boclair House, it was placed on the market in 2012 following council cost-cutting measures....

Latest rumour is that it will be converted into a luxury hotel.

I lay down in the sun on the grass to take this photo and it was so lovely and warm that I nearly fell asleep. zzzzzz
