Rowan Leaves and Buds.

This is our small rowan tree that lives in a large pot.

It is surprising how little soil rowans seem to need for survival. There was one which grew in a crack in a boulder on the Black Mount beside the A82. I first saw it in 1956 and it was still there when I was last there a few years ago. It may be flourishing still.
