Summit Gully
Yesterday. The day before had been a busy shift in AE. Left the house 8am, home 11pm. Quite like being busy tho. The day before that, half shift CAU. Busy enough and was good to be back at work. Tired tho, home from CAU and sleep. Then out for a meal with all the ski patrol crew. Yep was a busy but good few days before the day we skied Summit Gully.
Then yesterday. Up the hill. No rush, coffee with Sezza first in the morning Stronaba sun. Up the hill and whooooo eeeeek .... everything feeling busy. Lots familiar faces. Lots of pals about. And some of the BASP crew (British Association of Ski Patrollers). Jeff, head of ski patrol (on the left in this picture). Said to Jeff 'Will you take me down the back' ... 'he said Yep, wee crew going shortly, come' .... and so me and Susie H joined their crew.
Summit Gully is the most stunning offpiste run on the hill. So so sweet to ski it. So sweet to follow Jeff. BASP crew totally not on my level ...'Oh I can get you some cheap Oakleys' ....'Oh I have Oakleys, had to look the part at the Canadian meet' ... awwwwww, roar in my head :))))) ..... 'It's not very professional to go across the grass on your skis' .... yeah but feck it it's fun! :)))))), but nonetheless it was a sweet ski. A wee tumble of sky, snow, sky, snow ... sort it out, get a ski pole in and arrest .... sky, snows.... made it to stop still :))))).... but that just doesn't bother me. And some sweet turns all in all. Just the funny BASP folk bothered me!!! Will need to make sure no one really knows that I blip, eh, don't tell BASP! :)))))
Anyway. Some really sweet folk around too. Aye. Just being grumpy! So rude. Behave. Or take a really chill out day after .... aye patience challenge when not rested. Yep, Summit Gully rocked. And we drank genepi afterwards, Jeff too! :))))
A photo, of the funny BASP folk :) And Jeff :))))) big cheers for taking us down. And Susie H. :)))))) Top of Summit Gully. :)))
