Haukkalampi

Haukkalampi in Nuuksio National Park is one of my and my husband's favorite trekking places. Nuuksio is in Espoo, our home city, about 35 km from Helsinki. In Nuuksio there are over 30 km trekking trails to choose from. Today we chose to go round Haukkalampi, which is a beautiful lake in the middle of the forest.

Nuuksio National Park is a large forest with quite big height differences and total wilderness. Dozens of endangered or near threatened species of animals, plants and fungi are known to live in the area; for instance the Siberian Flying Squirrel, the European Nightjar and the Woodlark.

Haukkalampi is our standard stopping place, we usually have coffee in a thermos bottle and a couple of sandwiches with us. So we had today also, but I was too excited to sit down and eat, I only had some coffee. I was hopping around like a little rabbit, as my husband expressed it. Naturally with my camera.
