Repairs to Cambrian Coast Railway

The repairs to the Cambrian Coast railway just North of Barmouth are well under way as can be seen in this picture. 40-50 years ago and the damage sustained by the line would have been sufficient excuse to close the line. Indeed the line was under threat of closure for some time without such damage.

So I must enjoy a trip on the line once it has reopened, and I hope if you're in the area you will too! It's a fantastic journey - often right on the coast and with views of the mountains inland.
