Applaud

It is so good to see folk enjoying what they do. This chap was clearly delighted with his work today, and despite our disappointment at missing the last steam train of the day, we were certainly delighted that the Station Master was willing to be our subject for a photograph instead.

He willingly walked us up the platform to view the ONGAR platform sign and entertained us with 'tales of the railway' along the way.
There was however another train due in but it was a diesel and he volunteered to stay and wait for it while all his fellow colleagues went home to their families and their Easter Egg hunts.

On our way out we gave a cheeky wave to him while he mopped the Gentleman's Toilet floor......even the Top Dog of the station has to take his turn with the unpleasant tasks of a working Steam Railway!
