John Muir Way

Today we headed to Dunbar to enjoy the official opening of the John Muir Way. There was lots of unusual street entertainment to enjoy but I have to admit I was at a loss as to the connection to John Muir!

I'm afraid the event whilst well attended and highly publicised wasn't very well managed on the day. We stood with about a thousand others waiting outside John Muir's birth place beside a stage and microphone waiting for Alex Salmond to officially open the John Muir Way which we were told was happening at midday. It took till 1225 for someone to communicate we were all standing in the wrong place!!! We were not impressed after standing in the cold waiting for an hour and thirty minutes so we headed home without seeing the opening ceremony.

Time and time again simple communication lets things down and it's really not that difficult to get right!
