Beinn Dubh - Glen Striddle Horseshoe
Bank holiday weather... We left it until the last minute to decide which direction on the compass to follow with a preference for a mountain trip.
A rare forecast of wall to wall sunshine was on the cards for Scotland. We plumped for staying in Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond. Both feeling tired, we maximised on sleep and left at just after 9am knowing that we'd have enough daylight to do a walk late afternoon.
We spotted a horseshoe on the map incorporating a couple of Grahams that looked just the ticket. Glorious light, sunshine, warmth and views gave a spectacular walk which we finished at 7.30pm as the sun was dropping behind the hills. Dave, Rich's climbing partner (since I ditched regular climbing for the dog!) met us on the walk back into the campsite. He'd done a couple of Munros further north and was almost drooling waiting for his tea!
Dave is a great conversationalist and we've had an entertaining evening in the van with plans formulated for tomorrow.
