Playing life by ear.

Afternoon snack.

Another wonderful day! That makes two in a row which is unusual for me.
This is going to be a boring read for everyone except me.
Half planned and half improvised, we had all 5 grandchildren + thier parents for lunch.
The four 3, 6, 8 and 9 yr olds sat at a table on their own and had a great time doing kids stuff and laughing themselves silly.
Lorenzo, 9 asked to play chess with me and Valeria, 8 picked it up mostly by just watching while Alessandro, 6 made a fuss because he wanted to play. When his turn came, I was shocked to see that not only he has not forgotten anything since his last lesson but he has also begun to think ahead.
Massimo, 3 who had been watching, told me I was a very bad person because I wouldn't let him play. When I explained that he would have to wait until after his 4th and 5th birthdays, he explained that although he was only three (showing three fingers), it was a very big three.
Lorenzo and Alessandro played with the dogs, Alessandro explaining that while Grace is very beautiful, Baldrick is lovelier.
I even had a belated birthday cake with candles and 4 little ones sang happy birthday to me.
Massimo had a small scratch on the tip of a finger which NEEDED a sticky plaster, which kept falling off, being cheap ones bought from a market stall in UK so he used up around ten of them.
Then Alessandro asked for an Aloe leaf and finished up half undressed looking for anything resembling a scratch, scab or spot on which to put the gel.

The ant has nothing to do with anything except that he seems to be havinig a good time too.
