Munching Monkey in Monochrome

A trip out to Trentham Monkey Forest today.

Caught this chap deftly peeling his banana and making dam sure he ate it before anyone else got a sniff.

This is a Barbary Macaque, if I remember rightly the lady feeding them said he is approx 10 yrs old.

Trentham is a fabulous place as there are no bars or fences. The visitors literally walk among the monkeys. There is an official path with low level wooden railings that you can sit on but other than that the monkeys are free to walk where ever they want and the visitors are simply asked to keep their distance to at least 1 meter.

We visit every year, and I would highly recommend visiting from May to July as this is when the babies are born and they are totally adorable.
