"What do these items have in common?"
A snail, a twig, a pine cone a camo bag, a rock and a camouflaged metal tube - the common factor is that they are all geocaching hides. Each is hollowed out with enough room for a log book/sheet to sign, and sneakily hidden in a suitable environment, the geographical coordinates of which are published on a dedicated website as a challenge for individuals to find. The large camo bag serves to conceal larger caches such as Tupperware-style clip-lock boxes. The metal object is not a cache item per se, but a "Travel Bug" (TB) placed originally in a cache somewhere and with its own mission to travel wherever its owner suggests. For example, I have recently picked up a TB locally which was originally deposited at a cache in Wellington, Shropshire, with a mission to travel from cache to cache until it reaches Wellington NZ. The one in the photo is that TB, and I'll be sending it on its way somewhere very soon.
