As usual, the record of known scrapes/bumps/nicks did not remotely match the actual scrapes/bumps/nicks on the car by the time we found it in the car park. Presumably it had been inspected at some point between each rental and suitable action taken against anyone perpetrating a mark of sufficient severity, unless they only bother to seek recompense if there's an actual crumpling of any surface or destruction of any of the functional bits like light clusters.

History does not record where we first found a campsite after heading south-east away from flughafen Köln-Bonn but I managed to make myself understood sufficiently to be let in.
