My life in pictures

La Douche

This sculpture caught my eye, as it was situated near to where I parked in Harrogate this evening- I've been over for dinner that way with my Mum.

I was intrigued by the history behind it, so thought I'd share it. Here goes..

It was apparently sculpted in France by the notable artist Charles Raphael Peyre and was exhibited in Paris back in 1913.

It was then purchased by Sir Bomanji for his home in Windsor and remained there until the 1950's when Lady Bomanji moved it to her a Harrogate residence. It was then donated to the town in 2012 by a living relative of Lady Bomanji.
