Margo

For the fourth time in less than a year MSPs were this afternoon signing a book of condolence in the black & white lobby outside the Parliament Chamber after a motion of condolence was addressed by the party leaders.

The first was for my old University friend with the sharpest of wits & intellect, ex Tory leader David McLetchie, Then it was for Brian Adam, a good companion over many years , a stalwart of the SNP and a man of huge integrity. After that there was the death of long term Labour MSP, Helen Eadie who was always courteous and helpful. And then today it was for Margo, whom I have known and worked with for almost three decades and who was such an abiding , warm fixture in all our political and parliamentary lives.

Too soon for all of them. Too many of them. Too disquieting for those that remain. Too great a loss for such a young Parliament to bear.
