This is the remains of a .357 bullet after being fired into a sand trap from 50 yards. You can clearly see the striations in the lead caused by travelling down the barrel and the 'line' around the circumference is the mark where the bullet is seated into the cartridge and 'crimped' to hold it in place. This piece of lead weighs in the order of 180 grains which equals 0.411 of an ounce or 11.66 grams. All weights in shooting sports are measured in grains of which there are 7000 to a pound.

Accuracy is everything so my scales are accurate to 1/10th of a grain..!!!
