A day out in Aldeburgh

We visited Aldeburgh today, which was home to Mr MC's father, for many years until his death in April last year. We met and had dinner with J, a very dear friend of my father-in-law, at the White Lion - a wonderful hotel that we got to know rather well last year.

Aldeburgh is a very popular weekend destination with many and apparently about a third of properties are second homes. I have to confess that I have never really appreciated its apparent charms, although of course it will always hold special memories.

Here is a shot taken on the Blue Flag shingle beach during a very brief and bracing walk along the front. Unusually the sky was blue, although not for long!
