Good Friday grass

I should really have taken this a week ago according to its common name. Field wood-rush, Luzula campestris, is a very common small plant in a wide range of grasslands that can be quite spectacular around Easter time if you get down to its level. Despite having no bright colours I find the flowers really attractive. If it was a lot taller, more like its cousin Great wood-rush, I'm sure it would be grown in gardens for flower arranging.
