rainbow chard

Really yummy steamed.
-grown in our backyard, in raised beds designed and installed for us by Ann Hall (who is also here on blip!). I purchased tiny plants earlier this year and they have flourished. Besides sharing some of the leaves with a few bugs (see the holes) we had a huge harvest last night. Steven likes to prepare these and I encouraged him to add some of the stems as well as the leaves since they were home grown and freshly cut. Yum! No bitterness at all.

Fun stuff. Tomorrow I go back to FT Lauderdale to see the retrospective exhibit of my great uncle's -William Glackens. The preview was such a whirlwind trip I wanted to go back. Plus, the evening we went to the preview, the Glackens wing in the museum was not open. The NSU Museum of Art FT Lauderdale holds the largest collection of his work - more than 500 works. So I plan to see that. It is 3 and 1/2 hours away so I am not driving across "alligator alley" myself -that is the road that goes through the edge of the Everglades National Park! I am happily taking a bus :) I probably will not be able to take any photos inside the museum again, but the link above on his name takes you through a tour of the exhibit, via artnet news. I got a new tablet, a kindle Fire HDX for the trip but so far, have not been able to hook up my photos to upload properly. I tried via cloud storage with this same photo as practice and there was no efix data -ruff! Oh well. I am only gone for 2 days, can catch up upon my return. Thank you all so much for your comments on Chloe, so happy in the boat!!
