Sometimes its just good to look around and take in the environment that surrounds you and the people that are in it. That's exactly what I did on my lunch break today whilst popping into Stone centre to visit the bank. Looking around, searching for a photo opportunity and suddenly a motorbike pulls up right by me, I love motorcycles but this was what we would call a "Rat Bike", rather a wreck of a thing. My first thought was what was under the helmet? Would it be a character for my Blip? He walked away and I watched him meet a friend and instantly thought now there is my Blip Opportunity.
I approached the two "Weathered" looking gents and opened conversation when I was almost instantly shot down with "No you can't take my photo", so I continued to discuss Stone life to which he replied "I'm not from round here, I've only lived here for 15 years" to which we all laughed.
He went onto to say how much he dislikes Stone, his Country and most of all "F*cking" St. Georges day. He continued "I used to be in the army and this country has gone down the pan" He was limping around on his walking stick and didn't seem to be enjoying life all that much.
Blip can open your eyes to a world that is not normally familiar to you.
Eventually he agreed to be photographed if I quoted some of his words he got off his chest. I asked if he wanted me to put a name to his picture? To which he replied "No, we're just wasters, rockers that nobody likes, just smoking pot all day".
So there you have my lunch experience.
I don't judge but Happy St. Georges day my English friends
