Growth rings
Today was all work and no play so I have had to use a work blip. This is an image of a cross section of a young tree to show the growth rings. This tree is 3 years old. Also shows the lenticel where a certain amount of gaseous exchange takes place. Those are the little bumps on the bark of a tree. You probably know all this already and I am being a compete bore.
