Window Dressing ...

In the picture you see a detail of Fort Bakkerskil. Like Fort Altena and Giessen, Bakkerskil is - as part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie (NHW) (New Dutch Waterline) - nominated for the 'World Heritage List' of UNESCO.

Bakkerskil is one of the southernmost of the former defensive forts. The fort looks exactly as before, but the atmosphere is completely different. It's a B&B nowadays with rooms that are centrally heated and have a bathroom. Two luxury apartments have a separate living and kitchen area upstairs and a panoramic view on the Biesbosch National Park.

I chose for a detail while so many pictures with an overview of the fort and it's environment are already made and published on the internet. But this detail is new to the photo album I think ... I chose for a color version to distinguish objects better ... ;)
