Shortbread

First day back at nursery after the Easter hols for Kerr. He settled back into his routine and was full of excitement to see his friends again.

We often bake on a Tuesday afternoon. Today it was shortbread. First attempt at making it. I used Mary Berry's recipe. It tastes lovely but some pieces are a bit chewy. I think I'll need to cook it for longer next time in order to achieve that proper shortbread texture.

Kerr really wanted to make a cake but we realised too late that all the eggs were rolled on Sunday! Shortbread was about the only recipe we had enough ingredients for.
