Kennebec log Driver

We went to the Library to hear a talk on The Old Kennebec, Skowhegan's First Highway, sponsored by The History House. It was an interesting forum for many men who had worked the river drives to explain the process, share memories and stories. It was an informative and enlightening evening! Dave Calder in this picture, tells about what he is doing as a young man in this slide. He also sang a few songs he had written about the drives! Nothing like first hand information from the Log Driver himself!

Another great day. I spent a part of it with Kaylee, shopping in Augusta. What fun we had! She is growing up, my beautiful girl!

We had two heat pumps installed today. Hopefully they will eliminate the huge oil bills we have each winter! It is warmer in here already!
