April 24th 2009 - The walk home

I was woken up at 5.30am and could not get to sleep and so was fairly grumpy and hangover when others started coming into the kitchen but Christine making me coffee made life slightly better. I struggled through breakfast and grudgingly headed off to work, picking up water and diet coke on the way. When we got to the Ministry we were told that our reports were being made and so were offered the day off – not a hard decision there! We just waited for our reports and then headed home.

I didn’t want to spend my extra day off doing much and after a little trip to the internet café I went home to sleep. But I cant nap. Its annoying. Not even in Christine’s comfy bed that she lent me so eventually I decided to join the rest down the beach. Due to a mix up over a ball I didn’t actually get long there though before snorkelling fitting ready for the cruise tomorrow. I headed back out to Playa Man after chatting to Helene, Cecile and Maria before saying goodbye to John, Richard and Alice. I then managed to somehow get involved in a 6aside footie game with local guys and girls – the conclusions being that football is much more difficult on sand and when you cant communicate with your teammates!

Blip for today is from the walk home as Rachel, Chloe and I wandered over the rocks for the sunset. I love the sunsets on the Galapagos, one of the things I miss the most. I stopped by town for snacks and then headed home for cards. Tres, Helene, Rachel and Chloe all stopped by, it’s a shame Chloe and Rachel aren’t coming on the cruise but we’ll see them Monday. Cruise time in the morning, I cant wait!
