In Need of Care

I like some of these old buildings in the city centre, just off the main shopping street. Several of them have been turned in to bars. In fact in this area there are so many bars and pubs they are next door to each other.

The bars, at least some of them, look after the buildings and have renovated and preserved them. Others are in need of some care and attention. I notice the building on the right of this panorama even has a bush growing out of the roof.

I think buildings in the city centre would deserve better treatment than evidenced by those shown here. The buildings are worth preservation, but as they are these are not a great advertisement for the "Oil Capital of Europe".

I have not been to any of these establishments, the City Centre Hotel looks like it may not be one of Aberdeen's most celebrated establishments.

It was raining when I was took this photograph, later on the weather cleared up and now we have brilliant sunshine.
