Avast, me hearties!

Did you know that there is an official "Talk like a pirate" day? I didn't, but I do now. It was on September 19th. Pity I missed it - there's always this year ....

Went down to the marina today while the Ards Man fiddled with something nautical. I tried to sew some bookmarks as farewell presents for my sixth-formers, who have only about a week or so of school left before Study Leave. I finished 15 of them and there is a different mistake in each one. How is that even possible? I created a really simple design, with a wee bit of ribbon on a felt bookmark (in school colours, natch), sewn on with a little red heart-shape button. Examples of errors: ribbon wonky; button wonky; ribbon twisted; big knot on the front; bit knot on the back .... and so on. Oh well, at least each bookmark will be unique, in its own flawed way.

I thought that the mast made some interesting shapes against the blue sky. I also like that the light blob thing means the image is not actually symmetrical. The Ards Man has now given me a lens hood so that sort of blobby anomaly doesn't happen. I am acquiring photography stuff! All the gear, no idea .....
