The secret is out!

The mystery plant of 1st April was not an April fool, but an Arisaema! Stupidly I forgot to check the species before coming up to the house to take the picture, but I'll do this tomorrow. It could be A. speciosum. I've seen species like this in the Himalayas where the black bears dig up the tubers to eat!

The hooded flowers are pollinated by flies and other insects which are attracted by the smell, sometimes of rotten meat. Yum!

Maybe not beautiful, but very interesting!
