Rememberance

This day in Australia we remember all those who have served our country in war and other conflicts overseas. ANZAC Day (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) has extra special significance to both Australia and New Zealand as it commemorates the landing on the shores of Gallipoli on the 25th. April 1915.

My wife's Grandfather, William Holdway on the right and his brother, Ernest (left hand side) served in the First World War mostly in France and Belgium. William was injured in a gas attack and needed to be repatriated. Ernest was wounded and died as a result. Captain Wilson (centre) served in New Guinea and Bougainville during the Second World War and returned home at its conclusion.
Incidentally William suffered with a chest problem for the rest of his life as a result of the war.

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.
