Quod oculus meus videt

Ladies of the Vale

Lichfield Cathedral is the only medieval cathedral in Britain to have been constructed with three spires. While the viewpoint in this image only indicates a couple of spires it is a trick of the light and mist.

I'd headed to take bluebells on the nearby Pipe Hall Woodland Trust site, but they are still a little early to get them at their best. Thanks to Orchid99 for reminding me about this site.

In the image you can also see the spires of Saint Mary's and also St Michael's (right). The four spired tower is Christ Church.

Technical: to get the depth of field required for the image this was a 5 image focus stack.
