Still here...

And there I was thinking that yesterday's blip would be my last from Washington - given the ups and downs of this trip so far, how wrong was I...

Here I am still in Dulles Airport, 12.35am local time. We got the joyous news just after leaving the hotel that our flight would be delayed for at least four hours, although ironically due to the snow in the UK and not the US. The end of the world is surely nigh - by all accounts it's bedlam everywhere. Global cooling...

So we got to check-in at 7pm, had the brilliant news confirmed, and were given whopping $9 food vouchers each to spend. About enough for a beer and half a sandwich. Duly consumed by about 8.30pm - only 6 hours to go. Sat, waited, sat some more, bought a coffee, drank coffee, sat again, listened to some music. Couldn't buy another coffee as all the shops are shut after 10pm. Sat some more. Went for a walk with the camera (taking pictures airside in a US airport - why not, I'm bored!). All the time listening to a cacophony of CNN and piped muzak. Bloody awful.

And now it's 12.45am, there's signs of life with a BA plane on the tarmac outside, we might be moving soon. Possibly. Maybe.
