Glasgow Bridges

I like this view from under the George V Bridge, taking in the 1st and 2nd Caledonian Railway Bridges and the Glasgow Bridge.

As Gingercatpix mentioned below, we now know where Irn Bru comes from.

Irn Bru was first produced in Scotland in 1901, when it was named Strachan's Brew. It is thought its name came from a connection with the rebuilding of Glasgow Central Railway Station and the steel workers who helped with the construction. It is thought that they wanted an alternative to beer to quench their thirst and chose the drink - giving it the name Iron Brew.

The name became Irn Bru when a 1946 law change said the name must be changed as the drink is not brewed.

The company also chose to use its Scotishness as a way of advertising. Perhaps the most famous of these was the campaign in the 1980s, which used the tagline 'Made in Scotland from girders'.
