Power Cut

We get power cuts here from time to time, normally when the weather is bad. We can see the town and much of the "suburbs" if Stornoway has such a thing. Sometimes it's just us with the rest of the town oblivious to our dark plight, sometimes its just us and the town with Bac and Tong basking in sodium. But tonight it was everyone. Out came the candles and torches. Thankfully it was only for a couple of hours.

As it turns out, the whole of north western Scotland was affected - anywhere north and west of the great glen was plunged into darkness. Had Nessie chomped through the line? Apparently, a week or so later, they still don't know what happened. We take electricity for granted, but it's funny stuff and they same a good solar flare could disrupt power supplies. Oh well at least the camera is charged and so there might be some aurora photos to be had?
