Out of the west

This is the " Lochinvar" , the second of the new hybrid ferries built for Cal Mac at the Ferguson yard in Port Glasgow . It is due to go into service shortly on the Portavadie / Tarbert run and today was undergoing sea trials on the route , prior to it being handed over to the company on 1st May.

I happened to be waiting on the pier at Portavadie at lunchtime when it sailed in and it was, being electric powered, incredibly quiet as it came onto the slip.

Though what was then being carried off it I do not know.
