California Towhee

I could hear this bird and it sounded like it was coming from the trees, but I had a hard time finding it. Suddenly, I saw some movement in the mistletoe, aimed my camera in the general direction and was able to capture the bird on "film."

Fortunately my camera was set to compensate by 2/3 otherwise it would have been to dark to see the bird. Took a few more shoots. This one was my favorite with a little light in the eye.

Usually we find the California Towhee on the ground and underneath the bushes.
