The city is looking very different, and very small, now that the Gloucester Apartments opposite Victoria Square have been demolished. The tall grey Forsyth Barr building is now more prominent, whereas when we went away we barely noticed it in the cityscape. The old city council building has almost gone as well, so that will leave another big gap in the city.
